Metaroom is a term combining the prefix 'Meta,' meaning transcendence, with 'Room,' signifying a 'space free from physical constraints.' Through augmented reality technology, it embodies the defacement technique of surrealist painter René Magritte, allowing viewers to experience surreal fantasies from everyday objects in a room. When viewers wear glasses and look at printed object images, videos are augmented onto those images. The augmented defacement videos follow the eight categorizations of Suzi Gablik, a key interpretation theory of René Magritte's works.

Metaroom is an industry-academic collaboration project with PANACEA, a Korean AR glasses company.
